Our Process

​​Home birth and midwife services are a largely unexplored alternative to traditional hospital labor–but we’re here to change that! We proudly offer home birth midwifery services through an easy to follow process. Additionally, we’re very pleased to announce our “9 Months In, 9 Months Out” birth doula program for clients birthing in any environment. This includes home birth with a different provider OR hospital birth. Our services are not exclusive, you are welcome to choose one or both depending on your health and birthing goals.

One.

Initial Consult

Let’s get to know each other!

Call, email or fill out the inquiry form below to initiate contact. We offer free consultations to expectant parents, either in person at our office or over the phone.

Two.

Prenatal Visits

We’ll meet in our office approximately every 4 weeks throughout your pregnancy to ensure everything is going smoothly. These visits are flexible depending on your wants and needs – we’ll do what works best for you. At 36 weeks, we’ll schedule a prenatal home visit to solidify your customized birthing plan. Labwork and ultrasounds will be ordered according to your specific wants/needs. No testing is mandatory, but all testing is available to you. We operate on true Informed Consent. You’ll receive the care that you want and need, nothing less, nothing more.

Three.

Undisturbed Home Birth

The day is here!

We will assist you throughout your home birth as labor and birth naturally unfold. You’ll have access to our knowledge and experience as we walk through this process with you. We’ll follow your desires and specifications as outlined in your birth plan-this may include placenta encapsulation following birth if desired.

Four.

Home Visits

Your birthing story doesn’t end after delivery.

We’ll come back to check up on you 24 hours and 3-4 days postpartum to make sure you and your newborn are happy and healthy. We’ll also assist with infant feeding if needed as we support you in following your instincts and personal knowledge.

Five.

Active Check Ins

We will continue to check in via phone or text for 3 weeks postpartum to address any questions or concerns. At 6 weeks postpartum, we’ll meet in our office for a final follow-up visit.

One.

Our First Contact

Call, email or fill out the inquiry form below to initiate contact. We’ll then schedule a 30 minute discovery call. I’ll hear your story and learn about your health needs. Then we’ll determine if we’re a good fit to work together.

Two.

Complete Health History and Assessment

After our initial consultation, you will be guided through the onboarding process of the program. You will be asked to fill out health history and lifestyle assessment forms. This helps us get a picture of where you are currently and what goals you have for the future.

Three.

Initial Visit

Our first visit is 60 minutes and will continue a thorough assessment of your needs and goals. We will cover your questions and concerns regarding pregnancy/childbirth and may cover a variety of topics regarding your general health.
Four.

On Your Pregnancy Journey

Our journey will continue with 6 video or in person visits throughout your pregnancy. You will also have access to online support through our Mighty Networks social media platform. You will interact with our other clients and get to know each other at our community events. You’ll continue to receive your medical care through your health care provider, but our regular visits will provide additional time for questions, education and birth planning.
Five.

Birth Support

Our birth doula will accompany you to your birth location for hands on support throughout your labor, birth and immediate postpartum. She will be a steady presence and source of support for you and your partner.

Six.

Postpartum Care

Our time together doesn’t end with the birth of your child! You’ll schedule 6 more visits with Amy during the first 9 months postpartum. These visits may include infant feeding support, mental health support or referrals for additional care. This time may also be used to address individual health concerns and goals.
