9 Months In, 9 Months Out

Birth Doula Care with Prenatal & Postpartum Health Coaching

Our Doula Birth Services & Coaching Program cost $3,300

The gold standard of holistic, hands-on care during the childbearing year. This program blends our holistic knowledge of functional medicine and midwifery with the caring hands of a professional birth doula. Unlike most doula programs, our time together extends well past the baby’s birth and several months into the postpartum period. We truly invest in your health and well being for continued support as you grow your family. This is adjunct to the regular care of another OB or midwife and the birth may occur at any location or with any provider. Hospital based clients are welcome!

Obstetricians, midwives and doulas bring different things to the table. Obstetricians typically oversee medically complicated pregnancies and births, leaving little time to focus on the day to day challenges that childbearing people face. Midwives focus on normal birth and are often very knowledgeable about the physiological aspects of birth and the perfect ingredients to grow a healthy pregnancy.

However, after offering standard clinical checks and testing at prenatal visits, they may not have additional time and resources to give individualized education and care to every single client. Doulas offer excellent education and emotional support during pregnancy, postpartum and birth but don’t offer insight into the more medical aspects of the process.

What You Get In Our Doula Program

We combine functional medicine, midwifery care and birth doula services in our “9 Months In, 9 Months Out” program. Regardless of where you give birth-home, hospital or birth center, you’ll have access to our full spectrum of care throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. You’ll continue scheduled visits with your healthcare provider, but you’ll also have regular, extended 60 minute visits with Amy E. Miller, CPM, a midwife and health coach with over 15 years experience. You’ll continue to meet with Amy for regular visits for several months following your birth.

These sessions give ample time to discuss concerns, questions or address educational topics throughout pregnancy and postpartum. When you’re in labor, one of our amazing birth doulas (whom you’ve also worked with during the pregnancy) will support you throughout the birthing process at the location of your choice, completing our care with an in-home postpartum visit.

This program includes:

  • 6 prenatal office or telehealth visits with Amy
  • 6 postpartum office or telehealth visits with Amy
  • Free online childbirth education course ($150 value!)

Meet Our Doulas

Jen

Alex was amazing throughout my whole pregnancy. I wanted a low intervention birth, but ended up with an amazing home birth, with her talking me through it! She’s very attentive, kind, always answering any questions I may have and very knowledgeable and personable! I would recommend her 1000%.

Jen was calm, present, and dedicated through my entire birth experience. Her tenderness and strength were woven seamlessly together, giving me the support and confidence I needed to push through the most challenging experience of my life. I’d choose to have her with me for another birth in a heartbeat.

– Madison

I heard about Red House through a close friend who had an amazing home birth with Amy after having her first child in a hospital. I picked her brain and she compared and contrasted the two very different experiences, with an unmedicated home birth being the clear preference.

I chatted with Amy on the phone and had a completely different response in comparison to chatting with any of the providers at the OB office I had been working with.

All of my visits with Amy and Alex were an hour. We sat and talked through any of my concerns and it was the best version of informed consent that I’ve come across so far in the birthing field. I never felt pressured to do anything or make any decisions. I felt at ease with these ladies and we built a relationship over several months that led to my dream birth experience.

Alex was my doula with not 1 but 2 babies!! I loved her so much I used her twice! She helped me feel empowered and heard, but also gave my husband support so he could support me- and that was important to me. She didn’t even mind that one of my babies flopped out in his own! She is very in tune to women’s bodies, and knew when I was crowning before the nurses, she’s a gem!

– K. Willis

During my first postpartum experience I felt alone, overwhelmed, and unsupported. Something had to change with my second and that’s when I met Alex. The impact she had on my second postpartum experience led to a more joyful and connected time with my baby. I’ll be forever grateful for her care and support.

– A. Radke

Goodness, where do I start? After struggling with the route taken of the birth of our first child my husband and I decided we wanted to be more informed and prepared for our second birth. After meeting with Alex we decided to move forward with the full labor package. We spent a lot of time with Alex discussing a variety of decisions and perfecting our birth plan(s). Our hope was for a VBAC. Alex served as my sounding board as I traveled through some tough appts. She provided support as I traveled past my due date. Though this labor had some complications, Alex provided support and reassurance through each progression and decision. I was able to have a successful vbac much attributed to alex’s birth plan recommendations, supportive and guided decision making as well as reassurance and support during labor. Bringing our daughter into this world was a healing and empowering experience. We hope to have the pleasure of working with Alex again!

I personally could not have imagined how much more challenging labor would have been without having Jen and Rachel there to help guide my husband and I. My labor would not have unfolded as smoothly as it did if it weren’t for our Red House Doulas. Jen and Rachel provided emotional and hands on support throughout my labor. And most importantly, they helped my husband to support me and made my ideal birth experience possible as a first time mom, who didn’t know what to expect. We are so grateful these ladies were there when our daughter was born.

Rachel entered the birth room with the knowledge and excitement that I needed. Labor was stalling and the OBGYN wanted to increase interventions to speed things along. Her joy and confidence uplifted my spirits. She got me moving through different labor positions and baby came, going from four centimeters to ten, less than 4 hours later. As labor progressed, she provided massage and counter-pressure through unmedicated contractions. She was there to provide wisdom and support for both me and my husband while also giving us the space to share this intimate moment for our family. Rachel was my doula for my second baby, after a very medicated first birth with a difficult epidural experience. I was looking for something different this time and wanted to try an unmedicated birth. Rachel was supportive of what I wanted but also helped me to prepare for many birth outcomes so that we could have a plan for a very unpredictable birth. I highly recommend Rachel as a doula. May you benefit from her knowledge and kindness the way my family and I have.

– Emily A.

I would describe Rachel’s service as a doula in one word: ‘Incredible’. Rachel did an amazing job supporting my wife and myself during pregnancy. Rachel also did an amazing job with empowering me and my wife to work together as a unit. It was an absolute joy having Rachel by our side for the birth of our second born and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled, compassionate, and supportive doula.

– Segun A.

Rachel was an incredible doula and support during my pregnancy and labor. She provided education for us on zoom, and when my baby was transverse at 40 weeks she provided education on spinning babies and coached us through positioning while we had a few days to try natural ways to turn our baby. She also prayed for and with us during the days leading up to the birth. She was there with us for our entire induction and was an incredible resource for decision making when we needed to start pitocin and the induction process. She provided verbal encouragement, physical help with counter pressure and position changes as well as coaching and prayer through contractions. She was so supportive when we had to make difficult decisions that were not a part of the birth plan. She helped me to adjust my mindset and do what was best for me and baby. We are so grateful for her and recommend her to every pregnant family!

– Amanda R.

Thank you for giving us your self and your time. You truly have a gift and we are blessed that you chose to share it with us. You are so kind and generous.

Your support made such a difference to us all.
